Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about cosmetic acupuncture, facial rejuvenation, and our holistic approach to natural beauty in Chicago.
- 01Cosmetic acupuncture, also known as facial acupuncture or facial rejuvenation acupuncture, is a natural, non-invasive treatment that uses thin needles to stimulate collagen production, improve circulation, and promote cell regeneration. It works by targeting specific acupuncture points on the face and body to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and improve skin tone and texture. Results are natural and long-lasting when combined with regular treatments.
- 02Most clients begin to see visible improvements after 3-5 sessions, but optimal results typically require a series of 10-12 treatments performed 1-2 times per week. After the initial series, monthly maintenance sessions help sustain your results. The exact number varies based on your skin condition, age, lifestyle, and individual goals.
- 03Most clients report minimal to no discomfort during treatment. The needles used are extremely thin (much thinner than those used for injections), and the sensation is often described as a slight tingling or pressure. Many clients find the experience deeply relaxing and even fall asleep during their session.
- 04Unlike Botox, which temporarily paralyzes muscles, cosmetic acupuncture works with your body's natural healing processes to stimulate collagen production and improve overall skin health. Results are gradual and natural-looking, without the frozen appearance that can occur with injectables. Cosmetic acupuncture also addresses the root causes of aging rather than just masking symptoms, and there are no toxic chemicals or side effects.
- 05Cosmetic acupuncture is extremely safe with minimal side effects. Some clients may experience slight bruising, redness, or temporary marks at needle sites, which typically resolve within a few hours to a day. There is no downtime, and you can return to your normal activities immediately after treatment.

- 07Yes! Cosmetic acupuncture can help with acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, sagging skin, dark circles, fine lines, wrinkles, and overall skin texture. It also promotes a healthy glow and can help with conditions like TMJ, sinus issues, and facial paralysis. We customize each treatment to address your specific concerns.
- 08Microneedling uses tiny needles to create micro-channels in the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production. When combined with cosmetic acupuncture, it enhances results by improving product absorption, reducing scarring, and promoting faster skin regeneration. It's excellent for treating acne scars, enlarged pores, and uneven skin texture.
- 09At this time, we do not directly accept insurance for cosmetic acupuncture treatments as they are considered elective cosmetic procedures. However, if you have acupuncture coverage through your insurance plan for medical conditions, we can provide a superbill for you to submit for potential reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance provider about your specific coverage.
